Give the 700,000,000,000 Bail out to the people ? (a question)

There is a increasingly vocal portion of the population that says that instead of bailing out Wallstreet we should give that money to the adult population of the US and thus restart the economy that way…

When I do the math it just doesnt make sence, am I missing a zero here some where ?

The bail out was 700 Billion 700,000,000,000.00 Correct?

Currently there are aprox 225,746,457 people in the US Over the age of 18 (According to the US Census Bureau, the population of the USA in 2006 was 299, 398, 484. Of that population figure, 24.6% were under the age of 18.)

3100 dollars although nice is not a significant amount of money to pay off bad mortgages, loans etc.

Further more if the amount COULD provide tax payers with the crazy amounts of money people are talking about (50,000 – 1,000,000,000) you would see RAMPANT inflation wouldn’t you?

Either way giving the money “to the people” seems like an EPIC fail ?!

What am I missing here?
